The
‘Nell Gwyn’ porcelain doll has brown hair and green eyes.
The
Porcelain Doll named ‘Nell Gwyn’ is based on the famous
historical mistress of Charles 11.
This
porcelain doll is luxuriously dressed in yellow dupion silk,
with an under-dress of lemon satin. It also has an overskirt
of lemon silk caught up at the sides in a pannier style.
The doll’s dress is beautifully decorated with a variety
of luxury trimmings. The underskirt of the doll’s dress
has lace all around it and the same lace is used round the
neck and in double rows around the sleeves.
Round
the waist and down the two front panels of this doll’s dress
are delicate white roses interspersed with green edging.
The silk overskirt of the doll’s dress is also trimmed with
lace. She wears pearls around her neck and has small pearl
ear-rings.
‘Nell
Gwyn’ porcelain doll would not be complete without her basket
of oranges, which she carries in her right hand.
All porcelain dolls are delivered in an attractive handmade
presentation box.
