The Porcelain Doll named ‘Winter’ is one of a series of dolls dressed to represent each of the four seasons.

The porcelain doll called ‘Winter’ is dressed, as you would expect in wintry colours of white and silver. The doll’s dress is white satin covered with white voile, simply adorned with sprays of white and silver flowers. Her little hat is of the same fabric edged with silver ‘ric-rac’ braid. The doll’s dress is also edged with silver ‘ric-rac’ braid, below which is an edge of white fur. Autumn is now gone and the cold days of winter have arrived. Our ‘Winter’ porcelain doll must dress for days of freezing cold, so round the doll’s shoulders is a warm cape of white fur edged with the silver ‘ric-rac’ braid.

At this doll’s feet is a white frozen fir tree to complete the theme.

This particular doll has one of the most beautiful faces of all the dolls dressed by ‘Elizabeth Anne’. It is a rather wistful face reminiscent of the character ‘Lara’ from the film ‘Dr. Zivago’, starring Julie Christie.
